Nurse Jailed for Neglecting Teen Cancer Patients

Emma Sinclair, a 30-year-old community nurse from Eastleigh, has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for the neglect and ill-treatment of three teenage cancer patients in her care. The offences occurred on 6 February 2024 while Sinclair was working with children undergoing cancer treatment. In addition to her prison sentence, she received a 10-year restraining order, barring any contact with the victims.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary described Sinclair’s actions as an abuse of her trusted professional position, highlighting the severity of her misconduct. During sentencing at Southampton Crown Court, Judge Peters criticized Sinclair for failing in her duties as a trained nurse, noting her lack of genuine remorse and repeated attempts to avoid accountability.
