Julie McFadden, a hospice nurse and New York Times bestselling author, is on a mission to change how society views death. After nearly a decade in the ICU, she witnessed firsthand how the focus on prolonging life often caused more suffering, as the inevitable reality of death was ignored. This experience led McFadden to transition into hospice care, where she found immense reward in connecting with patients and their families during their final moments. Through her social media platforms, McFadden educates and comforts others, aiming to reduce the fear surrounding death and its natural process.

Her book, Nothing to Fear, offers practical advice and emotional insight into the end-of-life journey, debunking misconceptions, especially the idea that death is always painful. She stresses that the body's natural mechanisms can lead to a peaceful passing, often without the need for medication. McFadden’s mission is to normalize the conversation about death, providing realistic portrayals of the end-of-life process. Through her work, she hopes to inspire others to appreciate their health and embrace life’s inevitable end with understanding and acceptance.
