Delta Air Lines has a long-standing commitment to making air travel more accessible for everyone. For over 100 years, Delta has implemented technology, training, and process improvements to better serve customers with disabilities. From 100% closed captioning on in-flight entertainment to app enhancements that allow travelers to share accessibility needs, Delta strives to create a smoother journey for all.

The Delta Advisory Board on Disability and Accessible Travel, active for 25 years, plays a key role in shaping policies and training. Innovations include an accessible flight map used by 45% of customers, expanded sensory rooms in airports, and the development of a wheelchair-accessible aircraft seat that won the APEX 2024 Innovation Award.

Delta also leads the industry in assistive device handling, having transported over 182,000 mobility devices in 2024. The Delta White Glove Services team ensures personalized support for those using such devices.

The Fly Delta app continues to evolve, enabling users to request support and notify staff of hearing or vision impairments. Delta’s mission is clear: to remove barriers and provide a premium, inclusive travel experience. As Managing Director Alison Lathrop notes, “We’re listening, and we care about you.”
