Amazon Pharmacy has launched in-office kiosks to help patients receive their medications immediately after doctor appointments, starting December 2025 in select One Medical locations across Los Angeles. This innovation aims to address a major health care gap—nearly one-third of prescriptions in the U.S. go unfilled, and many patients delay treatment due to the inconvenience of visiting a pharmacy. The kiosks bring the pharmacy directly to the point of care, allowing patients to pick up prescriptions within minutes.
After a provider sends a prescription to Amazon Pharmacy, patients can use the Amazon app to select kiosk pickup, pay, and scan a QR code to collect their medication. Each kiosk is stocked with medications tailored to local prescribing patterns, and patients can consult Amazon pharmacists via phone or video if needed.
Amazon Pharmacy Kiosks are designed to reduce delays, improve adherence, and increase access—particularly in pharmacy deserts. According to Amazon executives and One Medical clinicians, this system ensures patients start treatment immediately, improving health outcomes and convenience. The initiative is part of Amazon Health Services’ broader mission to simplify and modernize health care by connecting primary care, virtual care, and pharmacy services in one seamless experience.
